- Fresh, funny, and filled with feathers, Rio is the tale of 2 lovebirds named Blu and Jewel. They are the last of their species, and were originally united to breed. At first, Blu and Jewel don't like each other, but when they are captured and chained to each other, they start to become friends. Together, the birds break out of their cage and escape into the night. The movie is about Blu's quest to find his owner, and the two trying to hide from their captor, who is trying to get the birds back. Along the way, Blu and Jewel fall in love and become inseparable.
