I like the book and the movie! It is about a girl named Sarah who is from India, but traveled to America. She was left at an achool, but his dad died and she turned into a maid. Very interesting movie! Recommended to 8 to 10 years old.

Note: This movie takes place about 1917, but was made in the 1990s....This movie is about a girl who is from india , and she moves to America by boat with her father. They get there and send the girl to a boarding school. The dad leaves off to war (which I think it is world war 1) and the girl gets popular for her stories at the boarding school. But then something bad happens... Her father gets a coma during the war, and the women who runs the boarding school forces her to become a maid, since she can not own any of the money. This movie is really sad, and I did not really spoil anything because that was just the beginning.... If you already have watched this, then you probably had cried a couple of times. When I was a bit younger, I watched the movie and cried real hard.... I still do. It is heart warming! I just watched this movie with my friends yesterday, since we were having a sleepover. We all cried, and could not sleep since we were still sobbing! We stood up until about 3 in the morning! Yeah anyway, if you do plan on watching this movie, or love getting sad over movies, then watch this now! It is available on Netflix😉 Just in case you wanted to know where to fine it👌

You have to watch this. This sad movie is the best. It's about a little girl who goes to a boarding school, while her father is at war, and her mother is already dead. This is an amazing story. It's better than the book, but I don't know why it is it just is.
